I'm Aoife, a children's book author and illustrator, welcome to my portfolio page. I'm glad you've made it here.


With fun and friendly stories, I approach themes of emotion, difference and inclusion in a way that is colourful, playful and a bit silly. I love to create characters that are cuddly and relatable, even as they can be a bit grumpy and grouchy, and worlds that are fantastical and colourful, but accessible.


My background is in animation, and I bring that foundation in movement and character design to all my work, creating creatures and worlds that are grounded and believable while they are silly and vibrant. I only ever want to make work that gives you a bit of a giggle, a warm glow, and a gentle hug. Will we learn something? Maybe. Will we have a fun time? Oh yes.
